Chef`s Diner in Montour Falls

You like diners? Cool.This one is a greasy spoon, like most of the rest. Everything is as cheap as possible. No chance of finding quality ingredients here. People who eat here are either poor, don't take good care of themselves, or are stuck on tradition.This place is another example of America giving up quality for sake of convenience. Go up the road. There is sure to be a healthier spot.

One of the greatest places I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. Very affordable prices and amazing food. It has a very nice homey feel to it and the service is always top notch.

Chicken biscuits and gravy incredible

Great little diner perfect for a weekend breakfast. Staff is friendly, fast service and food portioned food. The menu has many choices, and breakfast is served all day.

I ordered a double cheeseburger and some curly fries. They were both delicious! I will definitely go back again. Price was fair for what I got. Service was good.

Old fashioned kinda good and reasonable with prices. Downside for me was I am super snobby about lettuce wilt and rust. I prefer spinach and that was not available. The romaine looked kind of old, but I picked through it and found enough to make due. The mac salad, potato salad and coleslaw all seemed homemade as did the dressings. I added a scoop of tuna and the tuna was great! My husband had a burger and poutine fries. Both were very good. Bill was 23.00. Yay for not fast food and being affordable.

This is a great place for breakfast. Have eaten here many times when we visit Watkins Glen.

This is a true culinary gem. Ive gone here a number of times with my best friend and each time was served classic cafe/diner styled food that was expertly prepared. The chef on board cooks fantastic dishes, with the menu offering a nuanced variety that pretty much is inclusive of the staple dishes you're liable to find in the diners of yore.The hamburgers were my personal favorite but the eggs were served up in a satisfying fashion. Chefs is one of those MUST pit stops on the way to the Glen. If you're a local, you're already liable to know about it, but if not, it's the tri county area's great secret. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The food was good and will go back if I am in the area again. I will say the waitress we had was much more interested in a patron at the counter than in us but the other staff was very attentive to their patrons. The booths appear to be in the process of being replaced/updated. I unfortunately chose an old booth that was in really bad shape. The food is worth the visit.

Best bacon cheeseburger ever!

Friendly atmosphere, staff were great the food was fantastic. Stopped in for lunch i definitely left satisfied. Definitely recommend stopping in for a bit of Watkins Glen history, and great food.

Didn't care for the food. The atmosphere was great and service was exceptional. Prices were a little expensive compared to other diners.

Great patty melt and the spaghetti with meat sauce was chunky and good

Their sausage and gravy omelet was so friggin good. Was out there for the IMSA race (tourist) and I will go here ever single time I ever come back here. Just friggin incredible.

Love this classic diner. It's a regular stop for Sunday breakfast. The menu is huge and the staff is super friendly.

Great comfort food.

My family and I came to Watkins glen for a nice family vacation. We were recommended to come here for good food. The waitresses were super sweet and attentive. They really made you feel welcomed. I would give this place 5 stars for the restaurant but the atmosphere was not so friendly. Customers around us were giving us dirty looks as my family and I sat down to eat because we spoke Spanish and were Hispanic. Good food and the waitress who served us helped lighten the atmosphere, regardless of the customers giving us dirty looks so we appreciate that very much.

Great food, great prices, decent parking and waterfalls visible from almost every seat. My grandparents dined here, my parents dine here, and I take my family all the time. Chef's is one of our favorite places to eat.

Basic breakfast. Taste like what I make at home real quick. Needs to redo the benches. Huge holes in them. Customer service wasnt too good either.

I only had a cheeseburger but it was sooooo good. Medium rare just like I asked, nice and juicy like I made it at home. Make your mouth water? Go try one. You won't be disappointed!

The food was great!! The kids enjoyed everything they ordered. They only take cash but that was ok. We would eat there again!!

Great service! It is a diner and its cash only. We really enjoy having breakfast here. Read the juice size otherwise you will get a small juice. Great place to have breakfast and start your day!

We stopped and had a late breakfast on a cold and rainy day. The atmosphere was very welcoming with smiles on the faces of the wait staff. The place was very clean and cozy feeling. The food was prepared quickly and delicious. My husbands chocolate chip pancakes were huge and full of chocolate. My eggs, toast and hash browns were very good also. All portions were good size and the prices were reasonable. One note: Make sure you have cash with you because they don't except credit cards and even though they have an ATM machine you could happen to be there the day the machine isn't working.

For such a small hole in the wall place it's really great it in fact I'll be regular now that I live here in New York

Had the chef special 5 cheese bacon burger and it was good! Reasonable prices and friendly waiters. Food came out fast also.

Doesn't look like much but omg got exactly what we ordered &food was great. Waitress said it's a new chef well stick with him. Great food great service. We'll stop again next time in the area.

This place will be my favorite place for eating lunch in the area. Then up the street for the best homemade ice cream ever.
